Planning Manager_Road & Bridges - Expatriate

Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and maintain detailed engineering and construction schedules including development of
critical path and project float.
2. Partner with project personnel to establish the plan and document the scope, develop project
schedules and or capital cost estimates.
3. Maintain liaison with management regarding project planning by conducting analyses and
preparing reports. Make presentations to clients as needed.
4. Monitor hours and costs to determine trends and to assist in forecasting.
5. Evaluate scope changes, cost trends, additional work orders and other elements., regulatory
requirements, and required completion dates
6. Participates in the development of timetables and schedules for projects
7. Coordinates the review of equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparations, and other
related resources.
8. Analyzes data and situations, recommends solutions to project manager.
9. Establish and define any job oriented project control procedures and identify the level of
resources required to operate them.
10. Develop in conjunction with the Project Manager and Client a suitable Work Breakdown
Structure for the project.
11. Establish and communicate cost and schedule baselines and ensure control mechanisms are in
place to monitor performance.
12. Review overall project status with the Project Control team and Project Management and
recommend corrective action where necessary.
13. Liaise with other Departments at all meetings relevant to project operations and ensure that the
time and cost plans are updated to reflect latest information
14. Preparation and review of construction program. Review of sub-contract program. Integration of
program.
15. Updating and review of program in accordance with Contract requirements.
16. Determine optimum construction methods / techniques. Determine plant & resource requirements
17. Assist in the preparation of method statements. Review sub-contractor method statements
18. Review / prepare temporary traffic management schemes
19. Monitor progress through multiple mechanisms including status reports, meetings and informal
updates.
20. Develop corrective actions when necessary. Potential issues range from falling behind on certain
tasks and cost overruns to conflicts between team members.
Qualifications:
Degree in Civil Engineering
Experience
At least 8 years experience in earthworks, road, bridges planning and programming
Ability to support, supervise and train junior planners
Computer literate with comprehensive experience of main planning packagesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
