Engineering Technician

This position helps plan and manage annual budget to include supplies, materials, equipment, training, contacts, and salaries as it relates to projects. Will work with the FMSS specialist district supervisors, and facility Manager to develop the five year strategic facilities plan using the Maintenance Managements systems. Plan and prepare labor, material and equipment cost estimates for construction, alteration, modification, maintenance, and repair performed by in-house work force and by service contract. Maintain all related documents and files related to project management on a centrally filed share drive. This position performs condition assessments of park assets including but not limited to infrastructure such as historic structures, paved and unpaved roads, bridges, housing, trails, administrative and visitor use buildings, and utility systems. Inputs compiled data into Facility Management Software System (FMSS) as applicable and performs cost estimates using Cost Estimate Software System (CESS). Produces detailed measured drawings of selected features from field notes and other evidence. Assist with project creation through the Project Management Information System (PMIS) by developing project narratives. This position will assist facility manager manage projects by developing work plans as it relates to compliance, scopes of work for contracting, and other related contracting documents. It will order, procure, and coordinate materials, equipment and labor in support of those projects. This position will travel to park sites to collect data and samples, take measurements and photographs, conduct surveys, attend meetings, inspect facilities and/or construction activities and research park or project information and coordinates with appropriate park staff. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes technical work in:
drafting, surveying construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems. Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents. Examples are trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as:
planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes; instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated. Specialized experience also includes:
utilizing AutoCAD; preparing, reading and interpreting construction design sketches and contract drawings and specifications; preparing project cost estimates; and conducting construction inspections. Successful completion of at least one (1) year of graduate education in a field of study directly related to the work of an Engineering Technician, such as construction, engineering, surveying, etc. This education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one (1) year of full-time study. If that number cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours will be considered an academic year of graduate study. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. Add percentages of completed experience and education. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (NOTE:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
